Getting ready for summer with Claire and Saffron!

INTERVIEWER: What do you think would make the BEST summer vacation ever?

SAFFRON: Um, I would go to Paris france!! Then I'd rent a beach house near the coast in Hawaii.

(Interviewer writes in notepad)

INTERVIEWER: If you could bring six people with you who would they be?

SAFFRON: Oh, my mom, My dad, My best friend claire and her mom!

(Interviewer nods head)

INTERVIEWER: What would you do in say, Paris or Hawaii?

SAFFRON: In Paris I'd see all the sites and eat at a cafe outside. In Hawaii I'd enjoy the beach and again, see all the sites!

(Interviewer closes notepad)

INTERVIEWER: Okay! Thank you so much for your time.

SAFFRON: Your welcome!

COUNTDOWN: 6 days! 

February 13th? What's so important?

OH! That's TTL's anniversary!!! It's going to ROCK...! wait, no peeking! Ready to check in on parsley? By request we are slapping on 2 chapters!

Chapter two: BEDTIME 

After pretending to eat her dandelion stew and secretly whisking it into the crackling fire near her family’s acorn-leaf cottage, and cleaning up at the water-hole at the other side of the forest she said good-bye to willow and started making her way back home. It was a dark, crisp late-spring night. Her favorite. She gathered up speed then swooped into the air like a owl after a nice meal.  Her wings glistened in the moonlight as she glided through the air, her hair flying about. Just then she heard shouting from behind her. She wrinkled her nose, she recognized that voice. “Parsley! Hey, I was wondering if you wanted some leftover stew…” he trailed off waiting for an answer. “Go way” she mumbled flying away. 

The boy’s name was waterfall. She hated waterfall. 

“Just leave, ok? “ parsley muttered “fine!”  Waterfall shouted back powering away, the dandelion stew spilling every swoop. 

At last, she saw her family’s crackling fire and landed gracefully on to a pile of soot. She looked into the fire and saw her stew, she smiled. “Sick of stew are ye’?” a women said. Parsley swung her head around; her mother was weaving marigold stems in and out of a bright green leaf. “Mom? Is that going to be a new dress?” parsley asked edging closer to her mother and watching the thin, green stems weave in and out, tighten then twist and repeat. “Yes, flower” parsley’s mom replied, deep in her weaving. “Maybe you can teach me?” parsley squeaked, hope shining in her vibrant green eyes. “Well, maybe you are twelve now…but for now off to bed!” her mother ordered. “Is dad home yet?” parsley asked. “No, dearest…he’s working late. Bed now!” she said quickly. Parsley crawled into their sleeping tent. She plopped her head on to the soft weeds-in-a-woven-leaf-pillowcase pillow and pulled her dead leaf blanket up to her chin. Cozy.

She thought about her dad’s job selling stew and dresses in Mystical Forest to interested fairies. He got to meet fairies every day! Fairies were very interesting. Their hair is always a vibrant candy color like hot pink or Smurf blue, but with sprites they only get the usual colors and a rare green color.

She listened to her little sister, milkweed mumble in her sleep about being a fairy princess. Whoa! There only like ten fairy princesses in the world. They are so magnificent and pretty. They live in castles and wear big, classy high heels and poufy dresses and their wings are the size of butterflies. Fairy princesses live in Mystical Forest in this big kingdom that has a floor covered in red velvet. Parsley drifted off to sleep, a plan seeping into her brain. 

Chapter three: SMACK! THUMP!

After again, tossing stew into the fire, Parsley began to say good-bye to her parents so she could go to Willow’s house across the river. The two eager young sprites were going to go chatter and plan out their outfits for the upcoming fairy dinner. 

“Okay, when you come home be sure to inform me of your dress design so I may get started,” said her mother as she slipped milkweed into a new dress and rubbed a stripe of mud off of her face.  “I will! I’ll be back by lunch time” yelled Parsley quickly. “Okay.” Sighed her mother as she fiddled with a pouting milkweed’s clumpy hair. 

The sun was just rising from the trees but all sprites woke up when the sun was just peeking out of the shadows of night.  Parsley was flying, like she loved to do, perky and ready for excitement. She was in one of those moods that she could of yelled “hello!  Good morning to you! Would you like to come over for lunch?” to complete strangers. 

She loved flying over the sprite villages and seeing all the sprites laughing and hugging and eating their breakfasts and dressing and telling stories around the fire. Some even singing and strumming guitars with stems for strings. In the sprite villages nobody was grumpy or lazy, in the sprite villages everyone is a morning person.  Parsley glided around the villages; waving and hollering “good morning! Good morning! Good morning!”

She was all joyful until…

SMACK!

She hit a tree. She couldn’t breath, her eyes were wide open and the wind was in her ears. What woulod happen when she hit the ground?!  Would she break her legs and just lay their until somebody found her? Would she be uncoqueus? Would she die?  

Tears sprang to her eyes. This has to be a nightmare! 

THUMP!

She opened her eyes. A wave of pain hit her body. Hard. She breathed hard like a thirsty dog, would she dare to look at her self? Would she dare to see a broken leg or wound? She wanted to sob like milkweed when she get’s sick of stew then she realized that she already had. Her ears were ringing and giving her headache. She felt more hurt then she had ever been in her life.

Okay, it was time to see how hurt she was. She breathed hard then tried to wiggle her arms. They moved and her eyes saw deep cuts and blood rushing onto to the dead grass beneath her body. At least she could move them. She propped herself up with her arms and looked at the rest of her body. Her legs were black and blue and her knees had deep wounds on them. Nothing was broken. She sighed and a thought smacked her brain. Is my back okay?

She limply stood up and felt around. Everything was okay then she felt near her shoulders. She only had one wing! Tears stung her eyes. “NO!” she sobbed. She fell to the ground and let the gallons of wet tears pour from her puffy, red eyes. This was all her fault! She didn’t even know if wings grew back. With out her wings she would just be like Thumbelina.  Her parents would never think she was responsible. She would never leave the house ever again! She would never get to go to the fairy dinner. She laid on the ground wallowing in her tears and misery. She did that all the way past lunchtime. 

Willow paced the gravel outside her family’s acorn- leaf cottage. She didn’t want to eat her lunch; it sat like a wart on the log where the family ate their meals. “Where could she possibly be?” she asked her mom, her aunt green moss, her big sister sunshine and her little brother oak. “Why, I don’t know, dearest” sighed her aunt as she shoveled the last of her stew into her mouth. “Who cares!” yelled oak, food dripping from his chin “we don’t need no other girl here.” “Grammar!” willow’s mother snapped looking up from her weaving. “Maybe you should go to Parsley’s house. She might of forgotten” suggested sunshine who was just learning to weave and was watching her mother’s own hands closely for pointers. “Oh yeah! I better get going!” sang willow jumping a little. “hey, you have to finish lunch first” her mother reminded her, guiding sunshine’s hands through the leaf. “aww…but im not hungry!” whined willow kicking a clump of sand. “eat.” Aunt green moss boomed. So, with a series of huffs and sighs willow finished her now cold dandelion stew and left her cottage. It was now an hour after noon and the air was warm and clear. She had walked a little ways and now she met the rushing river. Millions of sprites were prancing about the river, swimming and cleaning them selves and gathering clean water for supper. Suddenly a finger poked her neck, she swung around. Rainbow and Lilly pad were grinning. They were best friends and both had black hair and chocolate skin. Rainbow had cloudy blue eyes and freckles all over her face and Lilly pad had green eyes and really long curly hair. “You’re invited to my birthday party! It’s going to be at my cottage.” Lilly pad pointed west of the river beyond the foamy waterfall.  “Everyone is going to  be invited. Rainbow (duh!), desert, Parsley, June, daisy K., Daisy J., Raina” lily pad counted on her fingers.

News, excitement and... sprites???

Welcome to this edition of To The Limit or TTL!
Have you ever heard of a sprite? NO! not the soda!!! A sprite is a little nonexistent  creature kind of like a fairy... this little winged creature lives in the forest and is almost microscopic with a sort of green glow.

wanna learn MORE!? okay. If so, read this story below.

Chapter one: FAIRIES

“P

arsley!” called a voice. Parsley listened to the voice squirm in the leaves and kick a pebble. “Hello? Who’s there?” parsley asked in a withering voice. “Parsley! There you are! I have been looking for you all over!” yelled the voice. “I SAID…WHO’S THERE?” parsley yelled. “It’s me, silly!” laughed the voice. A twig snapped and willow twirled in next to parsley. “Oh, hi Willa!” parsley shouted like it was actually a pleasant surprise.  

Parsley and Willow (who was named after a weeping willow) are sprites, which means that they are kind of like fairies but sprites don’t do girly pointless magic they do magic that affects nature! (Sprites live in the forest and are about an inch and a half tall) and their wings aren’t so bulgy.  

Willow sashayed in her mulberry leaf dress, her knee length blonde braid that was tied up with a sunflower stem and her muddy bare feet and sat down on a log (which is a small stick to humans) and grinned. “what are you so happy about?” growled parsley who hadn’t really had a very nice day. “I’m going to meet a fairy!” Willow screamed, swinging her feet around madly. “Really, Willa!?” Parsley yelled. Willow nodded, “dinner!” she sang happily. 

Now that was great! All the sprites ever ate was dandelion stew because if they used up any other natural recourse they would get in big trouble. You see, dandelions don’t really matter unless you’re desperate to make a wish. And since sprites help nature they can’t eat any of it let alone kill any of the animals they help feed. So when your raised with only one food dish you get pretty happy when you get to try something new even if it tastes utterly awful.  

“What’s for supper?” demanded parsley, stunned. “I don’t know but my  mom said I could invite a friend…” Willow trailed off. “YES! WILLA!!! YOU ARE THE BEST FRIEND EVER!” Parsley screamed trying not to get light-headed and fall into the warm, gooey mud beneath her toes.

ALL NEW STUFF!!!

Hello, we are going to introduce some new stuff to TTL (to the limit)
first we are doing a new thing for nature and gardening lovers (like I said last week) what we did was we got some flower seeds (sunflowers  and marygolds) and planted them in pots and watered them! every other day we water them then on weekends when we post we will post a pic of how the plants are doing.

Now we also want to show you another new thing we are going to start and show you a new one every week: FAKE COMMERCIALS!!!!!!!!!! this  part of the blog is for people who turn the mute on during commercials (like my dad. We hope you enjoy our blog while we become a wonderful blog!!!!!!

My spring vacation memories, part 1: Dallas TX

Hi, i'm Saffron and I had a lot of fun at Dallas! I went to the American Girl store and there are two stories including a bistro (where you can have tea like i did) and a salon where you can either give your doll a FABULOUS hair make-over, a relaxing spa trip or ear piercing! My spoiled doll got her ears pierced. Me and my dad were kind of worried that it would take a long time since the line was very large and the stylists were REALLY taking there time but it really didn't for ear piercing. There was one doll that was there with her big frizzy mane from the time we got in line from the time we got our booth at the bistro!!!
But, besides the stuff like the salon and bistro I really enjoyed looking at the history doll  scenes near the front of the store. Each history doll had at least  2 little glass cases including there most prized outfits and accessories that really make them who they are. I own Rebecca and I really liked looking at the Rebecca scenes. After the salon I enjoyed a pretty good meal at the bistro. I had tea but you can also have lunch and dinner.
At tea you sit at a VERY PINK booth. I loved that they gave your doll a little booster seat!!!!
When you order your drinks they give your doll a little cup with REAL pink lemonade for it's proud owner to sip.  They also give you a little bag with two blank,pink doll-sized party hats and markers,glue,pom-poms and ribbon to create it and decorate it how you want it. I ordered cocoa...best cocoa ever! Then they give you your meal. Your meal comes on a layered stand just like a real tea party!
The food was "okay". The presentation was pretty; star shaped sandwiches, heart shaped brownies etc. but the taste was pretty bland.

I had a lot of fun there! I think you should go sometime, too.
